So I'm having a hard time keeping up with a blog AND our construction schedule. We started framing June 20th and we've been busy! The first floor is framed and almost completely boxed in. Our floor joists should be delivered tomorrow so we can begin the upward journey. It's going to be so exciting seeing the building take shape.
We have several weddings booked for 2018 already and it's been fun to visit with these brides about our vision. Working together on making each of their wedding days unique and fun will be the cherry on top of this "cake".
The wheat was harvested yesterday and now we can plant pretty hay fields (and maybe some wildflowers) around the property. We're filling our lake with fish and rain water. Once we get grass planted this fall the lake color should start clearing up. It's going to be the perfect backdrop to the west facing patio.
Today we've ordered a fabulous front door with side lites and an even more fabulous "back door" to the patio. A 16 foot sliding pocket door will bring the outdoors in and allow for a beautiful reception overflow onto the covered patio.
Overall we are happy with the progress we're making and thankful for friends that have come to lend a hand with the framing. It's been hot. We've drank gallons of Gatorade. We've got great farmer's tans. It's fun to work hard on something you love with someone you love. #luckygal
