what to title this blog post. There are just too many things. All good things, busy things, important things; just so many.
Steve & I installed all of the windows on the main level one day last week and then started off this week by installing all of the second story windows. The main level windows that open/shut are 5ft x 5ft; that's a lot of natural light pouring in and I love it. There are 21 windows in the venue PLUS the 6 picture windows (that have yet to be installed because we're waiting on more muscle than I've got). I just love windows. The windows across the back of the venue have such a pretty view of the lake and dock. We've also received the patio door with huge sidelights for the bridal room. Getting it upstairs and installed will be a project for Steve and some of our helpers.
Next week the 16ft glass pocket door will be installed on the back side of the venue and it will open on to the concrete patio that we've just poured and stamped. Topping off that project will be the timber framed roof over the back patio. The timber framing is being done by Alan Judy of Excello. He did all the timber frame work at the new AJ's restaurant in Macon. Super talented guy and our "backdoor" neighbor here in the village of Excello. I'm about to bust with excitement waiting to see how these structures will enhance the building!
Our white, standing seam, metal roof materials have been ordered and should arrive in a week. The plan is to install this while we wait on our siding to arrive in about a month. We've also got more concrete to pour for sidewalks this week, insulation bids coming in, HVAC being estimated and we're doing our first bridal expo this Sunday! I've been busy getting materials together and our booth set-up laid out. We do hope that we see some familiar faces at the Fall Bridal Show at the Capital Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City this Sunday afternoon. It's going to be such a fun place to get ideas, talk with other brides & vendors, and taste the cake samplings! Come check it out if you can!
