Painting the interior is done….except all the trim and doors. Now we’ve got a LIST. A list like no other list before. The next two months are going to be super busy, so exciting, and bring a new level of exhaustion that will be completely rewarding on May 5th when we host our first wedding celebration!
Today we get phone calls like, “We would like to see what dates you have available for a fall wedding in 2019.” At first assumption, some may think that these Millennials are planning THEIR “perfect day” in a “perfect, picturesque location” and must only be concerned about themselves.
I’m seeing it from a different viewpoint. The engaged couples that we’re seeing ask so many questions. Questions, for the majority, regarding the concerns for the experience their guests will have when they celebrate with them here. These couples want to know if we have plenty of parking, plenty of seating and how the wedding and reception will transition for their friends and families. Often times, they ask about handicap accessibility, how long they’ll be able to sit around and play cards with their families after the rehearsal dinner Friday evening, or how they can incorporate the needs of their grandparents in being a part of the ceremony. Brides-to-be are drooling over the size of the dressing room, and not in vanity, but to have space to hang out with their bridesmaids for the day on Saturday.
Venues like ours allow a space for both families to become one, get to know each other and hang out, have some laughs, share some tears. Couples are concerned that their friends and family, first and foremost, ENJOY the wedding and reception celebration. Brides-to-be love being able to open the 16 ft glass pocket door and bring the outdoors in. Grooms-to-be seem to like the idea that the party can overflow to the back patio and provide some fresh air and a more relaxing atmosphere. All around, couples want the feel of inviting their guests into their own backyard for a cozy gathering, enjoying some delicious food together and creating a memorable time together.
We want to work with more couples like these. We want to get to know more families like these. We also hear that parents, and engaged couples, are very grateful that the back-up plan is built in here at Emerson Fields. After putting on outdoor weddings for two of our own daughters, we understand this relief!
To summarize; venues like ours are so popular because:
